Cindy Taylor, who allowed her mother Enai Lai Dung to starve to death in 2016, has been released from prison after serving 12 years for manslaughter. Taylor, found guilty of failing to provide necessary care for her 76-year-old mother, left Dung in a South Auckland address with broken bones and weighing just 29kg. Dung died from dehydration and malnutrition, with multiple bedsores and fractures.
