Zoo Atlanta plans to return its last four pandas to China in fall due to expiring loan agreement.
Zoo Atlanta plans to send its last four pandas, Lun Lun, Yang Yang, Ya Lun, and Xi Lun, to China in the fall. The move comes as a result of the expiring 25-year loan agreement that the pandas were received under in 1999. The National Zoo in Washington, DC, had returned three pandas to China in November 2020. No discussions have been held with China regarding the possibility of Zoo Atlanta hosting future pandas.
