Zimbabwe's Delta Corporation to pay $46m in revised sugar tax under 2024 National Budget.
Zimbabwe's largest beverage maker, Delta Corporation Limited, will pay $46m in sugar tax, raising its cost structure, according to Treasury. The sugar tax, initially proposed at $0.02 per gramme of sugar in beverages, was revised to $0.001 in February following industry outcry. The tax came into effect this year as part of the 2024 National Budget statement presented by Finance minister Mthuli Ncube.
