22-year-old Summer Reid from New Mexico died in a crash on U.S. 6 west of Tonopah in Esmeralda County, Nevada. Reid was driving a Kia Optimo on May 8 when her car collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by an unidentified individual, that was traveling in the wrong direction. Both vehicles were the only occupants, and the Tahoe driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
