26-year-old Singaporean firefighter Ernest Tay Xiheng, who was on duty as a National Service firefighter with the Singapore Civil Defence Force, was sentenced to three months in jail for stealing an Apple Watch worth $332 from a resident's flat during a fire call. Tay later discarded the watch and made full restitution. SCDF removed him from frontline duties and placed him in an administrative post.
