Wind farm carbon emissions offset within two years compared to thermal power plants, per study in the Journal of the Royal Society of New Zealand.
A new study in the Journal of the Royal Society of New Zealand reveals that a wind farm can offset its carbon emissions within two years when compared to thermal power plants. The research uses data from New Zealand's Harapaki onshore wind farm and suggests that, internationally, wind turbine technology is consistent. The study also states that within six months, a turbine can generate all the energy consumed across its lifecycle.
