West Virginia Secretary of State candidate Doug Skaff was hospitalized after being bitten by copperhead snakes while removing his campaign signs near U.S. Route 119 in Danville. Skaff, a Republican, finished second in the race for Secretary of State. Previously, he served in the House of Delegates and is now the president of HD Media, which owns the Charleston Gazette-Mail and other state newspapers.
