The British Museum has recovered 268 more missing objects, bringing the total number of items found to 626, after thefts at the institution. The objects, which include classical Greek and Roman gems and jewellery, were stolen from the museum's storerooms and sold online. The recovery operation is global, with items found across Europe and North America, and the museum is pursuing new leads on around 100 items.
