Severn Trent CEO defends £3.2m pay amid 33% increase in sewage spills, plans £450m investment by 2025.

Severn Trent CEO Liv Garfield defended her £3.2m pay package amid a 33% increase in sewage spills to 60,000 incidents in the past year. The company plans to invest £450m by late 2024 to early 2025 to reduce sewage spills, following a successful £1bn equity raise from investors last October. The investment will fund storm overflow interventions at around 900 sites throughout the Midlands.
