South Korea's EV imports soared to 20% of total car imports in Q1-Q2 2022, with pure EV registrations increasing 156% to 13,863 units, according to KAIDA. Despite the global slowdown in EV demand, Tesla's Model Y SUV led imports, followed by Model 3. Meanwhile, gasoline hybrid car registrations increased 39.3% to 37,085 units, while gasoline and diesel-powered car registrations dropped 37% and 71% respectively.
