Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced $16 million in funding for 22 new electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging stations along Ohio's interstates, state routes, and U.S. routes. This is the second round of funding from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program, with an additional $4 million in private company funding. Ohio aims to have fast chargers every 50 miles throughout the state, with each location no more than one mile from the freeway and including four charger ports. The stations will also provide access to amenities like restrooms and places to purchase food and beverages.
