NASA will provide a US commercial launch provider, heater units, and propulsion system elements for the rover's landing. The mission features a unique drilling capability to collect ice samples from up to 6.5 feet below the Martian surface, complementing the Mars Sample Return multi-mission campaign led by both agencies.
