Loblaw, Canada's biggest grocery retailer, has agreed to sign the Grocery Code of Conduct after months of negotiations. The code, developed by a group of food industry leaders, aims to level the playing field for suppliers and smaller retailers, and improve transparency in the industry. Loblaw has agreed to sign on the condition that all competitors do the same. The target date for the code to take effect is June 1, 2025.
