Florida federal judge permanently blocks part of 2023 election law.

A federal judge in Florida has permanently blocked a part of the state's 2023 election law that prevented non-US citizens from handling or collecting voter registration applications. Judge Mark Walker argued that this part of the law violated the U.S. Constitution's Equal Protection Clause. The Hispanic Federation and Poder Latinx, along with individual plaintiffs, had filed a challenge to the law after it was approved by Governor Ron DeSantis and the Republican-controlled Legislature.
