Indiana's IDEM issues an Air Quality Action Day on May 18 for parts of North Central & Northwest Indiana due to high ozone levels, expected in the "Orange" or "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" range. The alert, in effect from midnight to 11:59 p.m., is caused by high temperatures, mostly sunny skies, and a lake breeze. Sensitive groups are advised to limit outdoor activities.
