Duke Energy Carolinas reached a rate review agreement in South Carolina, reducing its requested $323 million increase to $240 million. The agreement, pending approval by the Public Service Commission of South Carolina, will lead to a net increase of $156 million and monthly rate hikes for residential customers using 1,000 kWh: $12.53 from Aug 1, 2024, and $6.42 from Aug 1, 2026. The funds will enhance system diversity, reliability, and customer experience.
