Former Connecticut deputy budget director Kosta Diamantis has been arrested and pleaded not guilty to bribery and extortion charges. Diamantis played a key role in school construction grants and offshore wind projects in Governor Ned Lamont's budget office. He allegedly demanded and received payments and benefits from construction contractors in exchange for helping them obtain and maintain contracts for state-funded school construction projects. Diamantis has denied any wrongdoing.
