Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister Andrew Bayly has appointed Craig Stobo as the new chair of New Zealand's Financial Markets Authority (FMA) for a five-year term. Stobo succeeds Mark Todd, whose term ended in April. Bayly praised Todd for his leadership and commitment to the FMA's transformation program and acknowledged Mark Weenink for his expertise. Stobo brings significant experience from his previous roles as a director, diplomat, economist, and chief executive, and his appointment aims to enhance financial market resilience, trust, and participation.
