Commencement speaker Rob Hale, founder of Granite Telecommunications, gifted all 3,000 UMass Dartmouth undergraduate students $1,000 each during their graduation ceremony. Students received the cash in two envelopes, one to keep and one to gift to someone in need. This act of generosity follows similar gestures from Hale, who provided the same gift to UMass Boston graduates last year and Quincy College in 2021.
