China issued the first batch of 40bn yuan (~$5.63bn) ultra-long special treasury bonds with a 30-year term, part of its 1 trillion yuan planned for this year. The 2.57% interest rate bonds will fund major national strategies and strengthen security in key areas. China plans to issue additional ultra-long bonds with 20-year, 30-year, and 50-year terms throughout the year, completing the last batch by mid-November.
