Asda, UK's third-largest supermarket, reports a 6.6% increase in Q1 sales to £5.3bn, driven by convenience store expansion and strong sales for George fashion arm. Like-for-like sales rose 1.4%, and Asda's George clothing operation saw revenues grow by 3% to £293m for the quarter. The company plans to continue investing in enhancing customer experience and expanding its convenience and food-to-go markets.
