UK aid, part of a £2m package, arrives in Gaza via a temporary US-built pier, initially accommodating 90 daily truckloads.

UK aid has left Cyprus en route to a new temporary pier in Gaza, marking the first delivery of the £2 million aid package. The pier, built by the US Navy and Army, will initially accommodate 90 truckloads of international aid per day, increasing to 150 truckloads once fully operational. The aid will be distributed within Gaza as soon as possible and complements efforts to deliver aid by land, which is considered the quickest and most effective route into the territory.
