Norwegian ferry operator Torghatten and Kongsberg Maritime signed a deal for self-driving ferry development on the Flakk-Rørvik route, connecting Trondheim to the Fosen peninsula. Kongsberg Maritime technologies will be installed, including auto docking, auto crossing, collision avoidance, and situational awareness capabilities. This project aims to increase safety, punctuality, reduce fuel consumption, and optimize staffing.
