Texas has unveiled a new $305m Austin State Hospital, part of a $2.5bn overhaul of the state's aging psychiatric hospital system. The new 240-bed facility, built on the existing 80-acre campus, features single-person patient rooms with private bathrooms, 11 secure courtyards, and screened porches.
