Mirage Hotel closes in 2024 for Hard Rock Las Vegas renovation, 3,000 employees laid off, reopens in spring 2027.

The Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas will close on July 17, 2024, for a major renovation, including a 700-foot guitar-shaped hotel tower, transforming into the Hard Rock Las Vegas. Around 3,000 employees will be laid off, with Hard Rock International paying $80 million in severance. The resort aims to double its job count and open in spring 2027, while generating 2,500 construction jobs.
