75% of Maui wildfire survey participants are suffering from breathing problems, according to a University of Hawaii study. Researchers found that up to 74% of the 679 participants surveyed in January and February may have difficulty breathing and poor respiratory health, with almost half showing signs of compromised lung function. The long-term study aims to enroll 2,000 people to generate a snapshot of the estimated 10,000 individuals affected by the wildfires.
