Lagos State Deputy Chief of Staff, Gboyega Soyannwo, aged 55, died after a brief illness.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the death of his Deputy Chief of Staff, Gboyega Soyannwo, aged 55. Soyannwo died on Wednesday after a brief illness, according to a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso. Governor Sanwo-Olu described the late DCoS as a "brother, an armour-bearer, a confidante and a faithful believer in our collective dream of a Greater Lagos."
