A measles emergency in the UK has seen more than 1,000 lab-confirmed cases in England this year, triple the amount of cases in 2023. The largest outbreak in over a decade began in Birmingham in October, with 580 cases confirmed in the West Midlands. Every region in England has reported clusters of infections, with 390 cases confirmed in London, 130 in the East Midlands, and 69 in Yorkshire and the Humber.
