Google is expanding its Home platform with new APIs, allowing over 600 million devices connected to Google Home to be accessed by any app, even if they're not smart home-oriented. Google TVs will become Google Home hubs and Matter controllers with local device control, and initial partners for Android app development include ADT and Eve Systems. The APIs, which build on Matter and prioritize privacy and security, will open up more opportunities for smart home solutions across different apps on iOS and Android.
