Concord, a Nashville-based music company backed by Apollo, has terminated its $1.51bn bid for Hipgnosis Songs Fund after Blackstone raised its offer to $1.57bn. Blackstone, the world's largest private equity firm, had previously increased its offer to $1.30 per share, securing the Hipgnosis board's support for the deal. Hipgnosis Songs Fund owns music rights for artists such as Shakira and Blondie.
