NEW Zoo mourns the passing of Jason the red wolf, who had been living there since 2021. Despite never producing offspring with Mayo, the resident female wolf, the two were strongly bonded. Jason was recently found to have aggressive oral and naval cancer, prompting the zoo to make the difficult decision to euthanize him. At 12 years old, Jason outlived the typical life expectancy of his species.
