37-year-old Cumberland County mother, Ashley Witters, faces charges of strangulation, endangering the welfare of children, and simple assault after allegedly assaulting her juvenile daughter on May 10. Police responded to a domestic dispute and reported that Witters put her daughter in a chokehold, kicked, bit, and headbutted her, causing injury. She was taken to Cumberland County Prison with a $10,000 bail and a preliminary hearing set for June 12.
