3-year-old Iris-Mae Aubrey tragically drowned in her bath on 26 September 2023 in Abertillery after managing to switch the taps on. Her mother left her briefly to get a towel and found the bath full when she returned. Despite paramedic efforts, Iris-Mae was pronounced dead. Senior coroner Caroline Saunders concluded that Iris-Mae's death was an accident caused by being left unattended.
