Walgreens launches generic Narcan at $34.99 for over-the-counter opioid overdose reversal.
Walgreens announces it will sell a generic version of over-the-counter Narcan for $34.99, making the opioid overdose reversal drug more accessible and affordable. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Narcan to be distributed without a prescription in March 2023. The generic version, called Walgreens Brand Naloxone HCI Nasal Spray, is currently available online and will be available in stores by the end of the month.
