Sri Lanka and India are in talks to establish a small arms manufacturing unit in Sri Lanka as part of their defense cooperation. State Minister of Defence Premitha Bandara Tennakoon stated that discussions are ongoing for a joint venture in the military industry. This follows a defense seminar where the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka mentioned India's willingness to offer modern defense equipment to friendly partner countries.
