1.6 million Nigerians have applied for credit under the Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) scheme since its launch in April, according to Uzoma Nwagba, the corporation's CEO. The scheme, launched by President Bola Tinubu, aims to expand access to credit for Nigeria's working population and enable them to make essential purchases. The CREDICORP CEO expressed surprise at the sheer volume of applications received in just three weeks, describing it as "overwhelming."
