Maradona's heirs plan to sue to stop the auction of his 1986 World Cup Golden Ball trophy, claiming it was stolen.
Diego Maradona's heirs plan to launch a lawsuit to stop the auction of his 1986 World Cup Golden Ball trophy, claiming it was stolen. The trophy, awarded to Maradona after Argentina's 3-2 win against West Germany, is set to be auctioned in Paris next month. Maradona's heirs, represented by Gilles Moreu of Paradox Lawyers firm, say the trophy was stolen in 1989 and the current owner cannot be entitled to sell it.
