EFCC to arraign former CBN Governor Emefiele on charges of N684.5m printing and N124.8bn withdrawal.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to arraign former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, on charges of approving the printing of N684.5 million at the rate of N18.96 billion and unlawfully approving the withdrawal of N124.8 billion from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation. This is the third set of charges against Emefiele, who was previously accused of procurement fraud and a separate case of $4.5bn and N2.8bn fraud alongside Henry Omoile. The arraignment, initially scheduled for April 30, 2024, has been rescheduled. Emefiele will face these charges before Justice Maryann Anenih of the FCT High Court in Abuja.
