Colorado Springs' oldest coffee shop, The Perk Downtown, is closing after nearly 30 years due to pandemic-related financial challenges. Owners Don and Kay Heaberlin, citing difficulties in the business climate since the pandemic and the time for retirement, launched a GoFundMe campaign to help their 13 employees who will be affected by the closure. The Perk Downtown's last day is Sunday, May 26th.
