Former Princess Diana chauffeur, Stephen Davies, has settled a slander claim against the BBC over false accusations made against him by journalist Martin Bashir. In 1995, Bashir told Princess Diana and her brother that Davies was providing information to the press, leading to Davies' dismissal without explanation. The BBC has agreed to pay compensation and legal costs for falsely accusing Davies.
