flag Barbados Employers' Confederation seeks urgent changes to Minimum Wage Act, Employment Rights Act, and redundancy laws.

The Barbados Employers' Confederation (BEC) is calling for urgent changes to the Minimum Wage Act and Order, advocating for increases based on the cost of living and workforce productivity. The BEC also wants improvements to the Employment Rights Tribunal's (ERT) resources, and changes to the Employment Rights Act to reduce financial rewards for workers partly responsible for their termination, as well as modifications to redundancy laws. BEC is discussing these matters with the Ministry of Labour.
