Azerbaijan plans to switch to hourly minimum wage by 2024, based on World Bank recommendations.

Azerbaijan plans to replace its monthly minimum wage with an hourly minimum wage, as per a 2024 roadmap based on the World Bank Group's Business Ready report. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has been tasked to submit proposals by July 1st. Professor and economist Elshad Mammadov suggests that the hourly wage could boost overall wages, as it will impose new obligations on employers.
