Asahi Kasei launched a new hydrogen pilot plant in Kawasaki, Japan, for testing its alkaline water electrolyzer system. The project, which has been officially opened, will trial four 0.8 MW modules as part of a multi-module 100 MW-class system designed for green hydrogen production. Asahi Kasei aims to contribute to the rapid expansion of the hydrogen market, with global installed capacity of water electrolyzers predicted to reach 300 GW by 2030.
