28-year-old former Vermont corrections officer, David Orvis, faces charges for allegedly aiding in the smuggling of tobacco into Marble Valley Correctional Facility. Orvis, while on duty, coordinated with at least two inmates to bring tobacco into the facility and received electronic payment for his involvement. He resigned in February as prison officials investigated the case.
