Colorado Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin has been suspended for at least 6 months and placed in Stage 3 of the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program, missing the rest of the playoffs and the first month of next season. Nichushkin, 29, leads the team with nine playoff goals this season. This marks the second time this season he's been in the player assistance program.
