Smokers banned from using Astley and Dunley village hall ashtray due to nesting blue tits.

Smokers are banned from using an ashtray after blue tits nested in it at Astley and Dunley village hall in Stourport. Village hall coordinator Hazel Spicer discovered the birds when she noticed a neat pile of cigarette butts under the bin. Blue tits had previously used the bin a few years ago, suggesting they return annually. A sign asking people to respect the birds has been placed near the ashtray.
