Prime accused Anup Majhi, aka Lala, surrendered to a special CBI court in Asansol, West Bengal, on charges of coal smuggling. The Supreme Court had granted Majhi interim protection from arrest, provided he cooperated in the investigation. The CBI is set to file the chargesheet on May 21, after which the trial process will begin.
