Postmaster General Louis DeJoy pauses USPS facility consolidation plans following senatorial opposition.

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy announced a pause on plans to consolidate USPS facilities, including downsizing of South Dakota mail processing facilities and moving Missoula's Processing and Distribution Center's outgoing processing operations to Spokane. The move comes after bipartisan opposition from multiple U.S. Senators, including Sen. Jon Tester and Sen. Mike Rounds. USPS will now review and study the plans to ensure they do not harm mail delivery service until at least January 2025.
