M&S chairman Archie Norman states UK police are "not interested" in tackling shoplifting, as shoplifting offences reached a record high, increasing 37% in 2023.
Marks & Spencer chairman Archie Norman claims that UK police are "not interested" in tackling shoplifting, as retail theft reached a record high last year. Norman alleges that stores receive "very little help" from officers, despite the increase in offences. The Office for National Statistics recorded 430,104 shoplifting offences in the year to December 2023, a 37% increase from the previous 12 months.
