Louisiana's pre-K-12 grade education system has improved, moving up from 41st to 40th in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best States rankings. This marks Louisiana's highest ranking in this national indicator. The U.S. News & World Report's Best States rankings assess the life cycle of a pupil's education starting at pre-K enrollment, to standardized eighth-grade test scores, and high school graduation and college readiness. Louisiana's consistent progress in measures of K-12 performance confirms the state is moving in the right direction, according to BESE president, Ronnie Morris.
